Truman grew up in the very southern rooted, and very segregated town of Independence, Missouri. His later dedication to the civil rights movement shows his upbringing and how it effected him.
Harry once had a desire to pursue a career as a pianist.
Truman spent just 82 days as vice president before he was called to take office after F.D.R's death.
